On the eve of the 150th anniversary of the birth of the traveler, writer and researcher V.K. Arsenyev, his contribution to the preservation of the scientific, cultural and historical heritage of the Fatherland is shown, including a survey of the archives of the district archival office and other institutions of the Far East in order to identify materials about the population of the region, and the Far Eastern cultural environment and its representatives – professional archivists, he had the opportunity to communicate with in his versatile activities, are described. The facts from the history of the formation of the archive and the library of the scientist are given.

Some results of a survey of users of Russian archival sites conducted by the All-Russian Research Institute for Records and Archives Management in order to consider at maximum their interests and needs when preparing methodological recommendations «Creation and development of Internet sites of state and municipal archives of the Russian Federation» are presented; 688 questionnaires received on June 2, 2022 (during two months from its beginning) are analyzed.

The content of 15 travel notebooks of the famous Russian scientist-slavist I.I. Sreznevsky, deposited in the Sreznevsky family fonds in the Russian State Archive of Literature and Arts, allowing to restore the route of his scientific trip to the Slovenian lands and giving an idea of almost all spheres of folk life and everyday life of the Southern Slavs, as well as the organization of foreign scientific trips by the Ministry of Public Education, is analyzed.

On the basis of documents identified in several federal and regional archives, an attempt was made to reconstruct the biography of one of the representatives of the highest bureaucracy of the Russian Empire, censor M.A. Lagodovsky; his studies and subsequent service in the censorship bodies of Warsaw in the late XIX – early XX centuries are elucidated.

The memoirs of the outstanding Russian and Soviet psychiatrist, the founder of the Saratov psychiatric school, Professor M.P. Kutanin are introduced into scientific circulation. The transcript of an interview conducted in 1944 by the head physician of the 1st Moscow Psychiatric Hospital M.A. Dzhagarov, not only allows to eliminate certain gaps in the biography of the scientist, to reveal the depth and scale of his activities, but it is also an important source on the history of medicine and local history.
